questions

  • What does an EPT session look like?
Each EPT session is unique to the client’s specific needs, beliefs and their identified focus. A session lasts 60-90 minutes. We begin by establishing the focus of our session - what is bothering you, what do you want to accomplish through today’s session? Then muscle testing (applied kinesiology) allows your body to reveal the subconscious emotional root of the current issue. Once we’ve found it, we use touch and breathing techniques to encourage the body to let go of that emotional energy. Lastly, you’ll be led through releasing statements and positive affirmations created specifically for your experience and your goals.
  • Do I need EPT if I already see a therapist?
Talk therapy and EPT are valuable in different ways. If you have a therapist you enjoy working with, that's great! EPT can still help you. Some clients bring us the issues that come up in talk therapy. Other clients like to process their EPT revelations with their therapist to explore what they learned about themselves. The biggest difference is that EPT helps uncover the emotions trapped in your body and how they shape your subconscious. With that information, we can zero in on where the negative pattern began. It's like a cheat code that helps your therapy be more effective.
  • How many sessions will I need?
Most clients experience relief after just one session, but we recommend you commit to doing 4 to 7 so you can experience more substantial change in your life. Together we can outline your individual healing goals and create a personalized plan to help you meet your goals. Naturally some life situations require more than 7 sessions. We will discuss the best approach for you, but ultimately the number of sessions is at your discretion. Sessions are typically scheduled between 1 and 3 weeks apart.
  • What if I can't afford this?
I completely understand the financial stress of needing services that don't fit in your budget, so I accept clients on a sliding fee scale. If you need support but feel you can't afford it, I can provide a payment link that lets you pay what you can.
  • Does EPT work for children?
EPT does wonders for children, and they love it. Even when children are pre or non verbal, EPT can work for them. In these cases, a parent or guardian acts as the proxy for the child. Kids can often shift even more quickly than adults.
  • What should I expect after a session?
Many clients experience: A continued release of emotions. Simply allow them to be expressed without judgment. Emotions are just feelings, they do not define who you are or your current level of healing. Tiredness. Allow yourself to rest and even nap after an EPT session. Many deep emotions are released, which can be tiresome for the body. Sleep also allows the brain to reorganize and process the work we did in our session. More Energy. Emotional work may be draining for some, but many clients feel lighter and like a weight has been lifted. Some may immediately feel more peace and clarity that remains. Thirsty. Please drink plenty of water after an EPT session to help release any toxins that are being removed from your body. Hungry. You might feel an intense hunger, which means your body worked hard to release the emotions that were stored. Eat a healthy, yet light meal to give your body fuel. But please check in with your body to see it's real hunger, or if your emotions want to numb out with food. Realization of other patterns in your life. Many times when patterns have been uncovered in your life, you will continue to experience additional insights about your past, relationships, etc. You may even notice other emotional patterns in your life. Take note of these insights and allow yourself to enjoy the new awareness.
